Why Trekking Pals?

Hi,

I’m Habiba Davis, founder of Trekking Pals.
I was born and raised in Morocco, and now call beautiful San Francisco home.

In 2022, I left my career in tech to follow a dream that had been on my heart for years. I packed a backpack, bought a one-way ticket, and spent nine months solo traveling around the world. That journey changed me in ways I never imagined.

Travel has always been more than just ticking places off a list for me. It’s been a way to grow, to reconnect with myself, and to feel alive. But let’s be real, traveling alone isn’t always easy. It can be lonely, scary, and overwhelming. I’ve felt all of that in a decade of adventuring all around the world.

That’s what inspired me to create Trekking Pals, a community where women can experience the magic of adventure together. A space where sisterhood, support, and personal growth are just as important as the destination.

I truly believe that adventure is one of the most powerful ways to remember how strong, capable, and supported you are, and the best part? You don’t have to do it alone.

Trekking Pals isn’t your typical big-bus, cookie-cutter, large group tour.

Our adventures are intimate. They are for women who are ready to travel with heart, courage, and community, not just check off a bucket list.

FAQs

  • Trekking Pals trips are open to women from all backgrounds who are looking to explore the world with curiosity, courage, and community. Most of our travelers are between 25–60, but all ages are welcome. Whether you’re a seasoned traveler or this is your first group trip, you’re in good company.

  • ABSOLUTELY. The majority of our travelers come solo and leave with new friends. We’ll pair you up with a roommate unless you request a single room.

  • All trip prices are based on double occupancy, meaning you’ll share a room with another traveler.

    If you’re traveling with a friend, just let us know and we’ll pair you together. If you prefer your own space, private accommodation is available on most trips for an additional fee, just check the trip page for details or email us to confirm.

  • All deposits are NON-REFUNDABLE, no exceptions. Deposits secure your spot on the trip and go toward planning and booking logistics well in advance. We highly recommend purchasing travel insurance that covers cancellations.

  • Each trip is different, but in general, our trips include:

    • Accommodation (double occupancy)

    • Most meals

    • Local guides and activities as indicated in the itinerary

    • All ground transportation within the itinerary

    • Park permits (if needed)

    • Support from your Trekking Pals trip leader

    What’s not included:

    • International flights

    • Travel insurance

    • Some meals (check your trip details)

    • Tips for guides and staff

    • Personal expenses

    • Drinks

  • No, airfare is not included in any of our trips. Travelers are responsible for booking their own flights to and from the destination. We’re happy to recommend arrival/departure windows and help you coordinate flight times if needed.
